Don't do it. SQL 2005 on Windows Server 2003 R2 is the way to go today!

Ok, but SQL 7 is no longer supported. So with that said you can you really
maintain a highly available unsupported system?

Of course SQL 7 is still supported...just not from a Hotfix/Service pack
standpoint. You want support from Microsoft, you will get it if you call in
on your premier contract or Credit Card case....

That said, I would start by pushing the vendor to certify your application
under SQL 2000 if they are still around. 7.0 cluster is much more difficult
to deal with than 2000. I have not touched 2005

No thanks!

"However, effective January 1, 2006, complimentary support, Design Change
Requests (DCRs), or new feature requests for SQL Server 7.0 products will no
longer be available. To continue to receive non-security-related hotfix
requests, you will have to acquire an ESHA."
