sql server clustering : Seperate instances of SQL on differeng VM's

I am being asked to migrate various SQL Databases, 2000 and 2005 to a single
large clustered enviroment.

I believe that you can install a single seperate instance of SQL 2000 on a
Virtual Machine (this is required as they each use differeing collation
sequences), however, can both SQL 2000 and 2005 run in the same clustered
enviroment on different virtual mahcines?

Thanks.....

You can run both instances in the same cluster. But why would you?

If your goal is to have a highly available SQL cluster with the best
performance and highest availability, that means you should be deploying SQL
2005. Migrate your 2000 databases to the new cluster after you have it up
and running.
