sql server clustering : Does SQL Server 2005 Standard support failover clustering?

Hello,

We are looking into migrating a two-node clustered win2k3 system from
SQL Server 7 to SQL Server 2005. Because we use database clustering, we
are running the Enterprise version of SQL Server 7.

I need to determine which hversion of 2005 supports our requirements.
My understanding is that SQL Server 2005 Standard supports fail-over
clustering (for two nodes), but some suppliers are telling us that it
doesn't.

Can anyone give me simple, authoritative answer - one way of the other?

Thanks,

Andy Johnson

It does support 2 node clustering. Tell your vendors to read
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/features/compare-features.mspx

especially the section where it says "Supports only two nodes."

time for a new supplier.
