sql server clustering:
Hi The account used to install the SQL have the next permissions, is local admin in both nodes, logon as service, act as a part of S.O., lock pages in memory Are you installing using domain controllers as nodes or installing trought temrinal ?? The first installation is stand alone (in one node) o the service for sql server appers in cluster admin ?? Is a named instance ?? the sqlstp.log, is giving you errors ?? What said Rodney is true, be can be done the installation.. if have more server move the DC role to it servers and try again the SQL Cluster setup http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281662 Ok, what i means " trought terminal", i means, if you are installing the sql instance using temrinal server session, that is not supported.. if you have terminal service in aplication mode in DC's, sql cluster installation is not supported Read the next document and try the installation again http://support.microsoft.com/kb/815431/ About the permission, check the permission listed in the last post, check your DNS configuration in each network card in each cluster node, try to connect from (from both nodes) one node to another node at c$ or d$ using the account to perform the installation.. Hi, I had installed an SQL 2000 Cluster on one of the two nodes server that running Windows 2003 Ent version, but the other node server cannot join the SQL cluster and the setup process always jump out of the screen that need to input Admin username, password and domain name with no errors. Is this issue related to the Administrator right problem? Pls advice Chris

But I try before and success. Is that some of the DCs' services will interrupt the cluster/ SQL cluster? Regards Chris "Rodney R. Hi, I'm back! I try you guys suggestions but fail. At last I gave up to setup the DC for SQL cluster and join the DC as the member servers. Now one thing I check that if the DCs cannot be found ,the SQL cluster will go offline immediately. Can the SQL cluster still online even DCs disappear on the network?
